It's that time of the year when....

this is ending....

and this is starting.

The people of Taggia get all medievally ....

and the shops start selling chocolate olives for Easter*.

It's knitting needle harvest time....

And, last but definitely least, it's time to get out that odious brown bag that contains everything we need to hold the annual Maberga Road consortium meeting.

I hate that bag.  I love spring.

*If you think about it, does it make any more sense that a giant bunny brings chocolate eggs instead of chocolate olives to celebrate the resurrection of the son of God?

When did I become...

Laura Ingalls Wilder?

I'm not really sure when it happened but I noticed it whilst fillin' the water jug before climbing into bed in the loft wearing my new nightcap.

You see, despite all the luxuries that can now be found in Casa Cornwell like heat, and walls that don't crumble, and floors that don't sag and bounce, and our new kitchen couch....

when the weather does this
we still lose the greatest luxury we have....running water.  Yep.  Water tubes that hang in trees still freeze when the temp dips below 0.

Just because...

Every house needs at least one bowl with legs.....

And because I've had a long lazy new year weekend.

Happy New Year,  Everyone.  May your 2016 bowl always be full and grow some legs.

Another Holiday to Celebrate

Olive Knitting turns 10 today. Yep.  A whole decade that I've been babbling on here.  That's 70 dog years.  So, grab a glass of bubbly and head on down memory lane (that would be the archives which you can find there in the right sidebar).  If you don't feel like spending 10 hours (that's 70 dog hours) reading the 10 years of thoughts, observations, and stories from Maberga just go HERE - that post is pretty much the Olive Knitting Cliffs Notes.

Viva....

christmas gifts

David and I are making christmas gifts for each other this year.

I couldn't help but sneak a peek at what David was making me...

We'll be sharing most of those bottles of limoncello with friends and neighbors but I think at least one will be under the tree with my name on it.

For my part, I'm having a tough time deciding.  Please, let me know which of the following* would look best on David.

chiliphilly1

chiliphilly4

or

chiliphilly5

I'm leaning toward the pizza.

* thank you to Makezine for the the photos
